ポッドキャスティングの市場規模は1～2億円？

ポッドキャストのディレクトリ検索を提供する「Digital Podcast」が、ポッドキャストのマーケット規模などについてまとめたレポートを発表した。
レポートによるとポッドキャスティングの市場規模は今は100～200万ドル（約1億～2億円）だが、将来的には3～4億ドル（約300～400億円）にまでに成長するとされている。

市場規模の見込みが大きすぎるという印象を受けますが、試算の方法はこうです。まずポッドキャスターがポッドキャスティングの番組録音・編集に使っているソフトやツール（マイクなど）のコストをアンケートによって集計し、それでおおよその一人のポッドキャスターがかける金額を計算。それにポッドキャスターの数をかけあわせると、大体現状で100～200万ドル（約1億～2億円）の市場規模に。さらにブログユーザーの10%がポッドキャスティングをはじめるまでに成長すると、市場規模が3～4億ドル（約300～400億円）に。
まああくまで仮定の話なので、市場規模の数字は参考程度にとどめておいたほうがいいと思います。
