iTunesの次のバージョンでPodcasting機能がつくことが明らかに

Podcastingのブームを静観していたアップルが、一転して次のiTunesのアップデートでPodcast機能を追加するというビッグニュースが！

・iTunes 4.9はポッドキャスティング対応に（ITmedia）
・iTunesの新バージョン、ポッドキャストをサポートへ（CNＥＴ Japanの翻訳記事）

・iTunes 4.9 adding support for podcasts

ウォール・ストリート・ジャーナルのカンファレンスに出席したアップルCEOのスティーブ・ジョブスは、iTunesの次のバージョンである4.9を60日以内にリリースする予定で、次のバージョンではiPodderのような機能がつくことを明らかにしました。
iTunes上でPodcastを探せるディレクトリ検索がつき、さらにiTunes Music Storeで個人のポッドキャスターが自分の番組を販売できるようになる可能性も示唆された。

去年アメリカで1部のマニアからはじまったPodcastingはクチコミで広まっていき、ラジオ局や政治家の音声コンテンツ発信ツールとして採用され、とうとうアップル社のiTunesにまでその機能が搭載されるようになるまで1年も経っていないというスピードに驚く。
日本でも多くのひとが使っているiTunesでPodcastingが聞けるようになれば、Podcastingブームがいよいよ日本でも到来しそうです。
