読むから聞くへ－世界初のポッドキャストノベル
小説は読んで楽しむのが常識ですが、それもポッドキャスティングで変わるかも？
ＳＦ作家のScott Sigler氏は、ポッドキャスティグでしか読めない、いや正しくは聞けないオリジナル小説「EarthCore」の配信を開始した。

現在序章のみが作者のブログで配信されていて、定期的に各章が追加される。

小説を読むためのRSSはこちら。
各章ごとに順番に配信されるため、結末が気になる読者もページをめくって最終章を読むということができない。
また、本として発表されていないため、ポッドキャスティングでしかその内容を楽しむことができない。
作者は目標は5,000人の読者が読んでくれることとし、多くの読者が読んでくれれば出版社に書籍化の働きかけを行いたいと語っている。
新作小説の序章だけをプロモーションとしてポッドキャスティングで配信、または今回のように反響のあったものを書籍化など、ポッドキャスティングによる新しい出版のかたちとして注目です。
さて、気になる小説の内容については、ユタ山脈の地下に眠る莫大なプラチナ鉱脈を手に入れるために、ドリルで地面を堀りシャフトを通す会社の若き社長が遭遇する奇怪な事件について。
テイスト的には話題になったサスペンスドラマ「24」や古典的SF映画「プレデター」「スターシップ・トゥルーパーズ 」とのこと。
ということは、地中を掘っていたらモンスターが現れて人間を襲うとかかな？？気になる方はぜひ聞いてみてください。
