遂に明らかになったウワサのサービス「Odeo」
先日お伝えしたように（参考記事）、ウワサのサービス「Odeo」の詳細が一昨日のO'Reillyの講演で明らかになりました。
いくつかのブログでその講演の内容が伝えられていました。
・Odeo podcasting software/portal demo by Evan Williams(BloggingETech.com)
・ODEO Podcast service(MAKE)
・FlickrでのOdeoの写真
わかる範囲でサービスの内容をまとめると、
・ポッドキャストを配信したいユーザーは、Odeoのサーバー上にMP3ファイルのアップロード、または提供されるフラッシュベースの音声/音楽の録音アプリケーション「Odeo Studio」により番組の作成が可能
・ユーザーに公開されたポッドキャストは、ディレクトリ、またはタグで分類される
・公開されているポッドキャストはウェブ上で曲の再生、早送り、停止といったことができる
・気に入ったポッドキャストの番組の購読、購読リストの作成がWEB上で行える
・購読しているポッドキャストを、一括してローカルにダウンロードして、ポータブルMP3プレーヤーに転送することが可能
ビジネスモデルとして考えられているのは、ポッドキャスト用のファイルのホスティングすることでの課金や広告など。
ポッドキャスティングの作成、または聞くとき、パソコンでそれぞれアプリケーションソフトが必要になるという不便さがあった。
それがOdeoのサービスでは、ポッドキャストの作成、検索、ポッドキャストの再生、気に入ったポッドキャストの予約購読、MP3プレーヤーへの転送などが全てウェブ上で完結するということになる。これはポッドキャストを配信したいひとにも聞きたいひとにも画期的なまでに便利なサービスと思われます。
このサービスによって、ポッドキャストの利用者は確実に増えそうな予感がします。サービスの開始が楽しみです。
