Podcastingでインディーズアーティストを紹介する「IndiePodcasting.com」
Podcasting（ポッドキャスティング）の技術を、インディーズアーティストのプロモーションに活用したサイトが「IndiePodcasting.com」だ。
IndiePodcasting.comは、インディーズアーティストの紹介と曲のファイル（MP3）を定期的にポッドキャスティングで配信するサービスを2月に開始した。
配信される曲の長さは著作権を考慮し、最大2分に短縮されたかたちになっている。
インディーズアーティストについて興味があるユーザーにとっては、アーティストの情報と曲のファイルが自動的にダウンロードできるのはかなり便利だろう。
IndiePodcasting.comのポッドキャスティングを聴くユーザーが増えれば、アーティストにとっては有効なプロモーションの場となる可能性を秘めている。
そうすれば現在は無料でアーティストのプロモーションをしているIndiePodcasting.comにとって、1回の紹介につきいくらかの料金をアーティスト側から徴収するというビジネスモデルも描けるかもしれない。
1点思ったのが、アーティストはIndiePodcasting.comで配信する音楽ファイルについては、著作権フリーにしたらどうだろう？
そうすれば、ポッドキャスティングの番組を自分で配信しているユーザーにとっては、自分の番組で利用できる著作権フリーの音楽が増えるため、歓迎されるに違いない。
そうしてポッドキャスターに曲が利用されれば、アーティストの曲はさらに多くのひとに聴かれる機会が増える。
アーティスト・リスナー・ポッドキャスターの3者にとって、Win-Winになれるモデルで面白いと思うのですが、実現しないですかね。
※もしかしたら既にそうなっているのを見落としているかもしれませんが・・・。
