ポッドキャスティングの発展のための課題
日本ではまだまだマイナーな存在のPodcasting（ポッドキャスティング）。
ブログには及ばなくても、ある程度の利用者を獲得し、サービスとして広く認知されるまでにどんな課題が存在するか、ちょっと考察。
①番組配信するための敷居が高い
ポッドキャスティングをやろうと思ったら、マイクで声を録音して必要があれば編集し、最後に配信のためのRSSを準備するという流れになる。
それは誰でも簡単にできるというものではなく、ある程度の知識と手間が必要になる。
特にRSSの準備のところが1番厄介で、実は私もやり方がわからず、１度は挫折してしまっている。
アメリカでは自動でポッドキャスティング用のRSSを生成してくれる「FeedBurner」というサービスがあるが、同じようにポッドキャスティングの敷居を下げるようなサービスが日本でもいくつか出てこないと、ポッドキャスターの数はなかなか増えないと思われる。
②番組を探す手段の問題
①は番組を配信するひとの立場での課題ですが、今度はポッドキャスティングを聞く側にとっての課題。
面白そうな番組を探そうと思ったら、現状では「デジオの宇宙色々」にアクセスし、番組のタイトルと説明を読んで選ぶという方法しかない。番組が一覧で表示されているので、探すのに手間がかかってしまう。
もっと効率よく番組を探すために、キーワードで番組を探せる「All Podcasts」やディレクトリで探す「Podcast.net」ようなサービスを望む声が強くなってくるだろう。
その時に重要なのが、番組を点数で評価するようなレビュー機能。
番組が面白いかどうかは1度聞いてみないとわからないので、いちいち聞いていると時間がかかってしょうがない。レビューで他のユーザーの評価がわかれば、わざわざ試聴する必要がないので短時間で面白い番組を探せるようになる。
そういったサービスが登場するのをただ待つのも時間がもったいないので、システム開発経験のない自分もperlを勉強してやれないかどうか挑戦してみるつもりです。
③アフィリエイトでの動機付けが難しい
ブログが流行した要因のひとつに、アフィリエイトでちょっとしたお小遣い稼ぎができるという点があげられる。
好きなことを文章として書いてお金が入ってくるのだから、「ちょっとやってみようかな」とはじめたひとも多いだろう。
しかしポッドキャスティングの場合は現状ではアフィリエイトの仕組みがない。番組内でおすすめの曲を紹介しても、それを聞いたユーザーが「いいな」と思っても、iPodのようなポータブルMP3プレーヤー上で購入のアクションをするのは今は不可能だ。
ただ近い将来にこの問題は解決されるかもしれない。
アップルの「iTunes Music Store」が日本でも春に開始される。アメリカで行われているように、アフィリエイトのシステムそこには実装されるだろう。

今年は個人的にはデジタル音楽のアフィリエイトがブレイクする年だと思っているので、そこにポッドキャスティングが重要な役割を果たすのではないかと考えています。
