アメリカと日本のポッドキャスティング流行度
日本とアメリカでどれぐらいポッドキャスティングが流行っているかについて、ちょっと考察。
今回の考察にはGoogleとOvertureのキーワードアドバイスツールを使ってみました。
まずはポッドキャスト関連の情報を提供するページがどれぐらいあるか、Googleを使って調べてみる。
検索したキーワード ページのヒット数
■日本
・podcasting 14,500
・ポッドキャスティング 14,800
■アメリカ
・podcasting 528,000
※英語のサイトを対象に検索
本場のアメリカは日本の約36倍の情報量。
日本は予想以上にページ数が多く、主にブログで、Hotwiredの「急速に広まる『ポッドキャスティング』」を引用したエントリーがヒットしている。
さらにOvertureのキーワードアドバイスツールで、ポッドキャスティングの2004年12月の月間検索数（予測値） を出したのが以下。

■日本
・Podcasting 58件
・ポッドキャスティング 14件
■アメリカ
・Podcasting 3,819件
日本はまあ納得できる数字として、アメリカでもそれほど検索されてはいないようです（Podcastでも約6,000件）。
ページ数を情報の供給量、検索数を需要とみなした場合、日米で共通しているのは圧倒的な供給過多。需要がないのに、情報だけはたくさんある状況。
日本でもアメリカでも、イノベーター層が興味を示してブログなどで情報を発信しているのに、まだ一般ユーザー層が検索エンジンを使って情報を探すほど普及していない。
今年どれぐらい普及するか、このサイトでは逐一チェックしていきますので、これからもよろしくお願いします。
