ポッドキャスティングとビデオキャスティング
CNETの渡辺さんがポッドキャスティングについての考察を書かれている記事より。
Podcastingは草の根的な進化、下から上への進化の動きが強いが、Vodcastingは上からの流れもある。例えば、MSNのビデオダウンロードサービス、あるいはダウンロード型のショートフィルムである。
個人の視点で見た場合、ポッドキャスティング用の音声コンテンツを作成するのとビデオキャスティングのための動画コンテンツを作成するのとでは、後者のほうが必要なスキルが高く、機材や編集用ソフトなども高価になってしまう。
また、ポッドキャスティングを楽しむための携帯音楽プレーヤーに関しては、iPodやPSPや携帯電話などがあるのに比べ、ビデオキャスティングをするための携帯動画プレーヤーはそれほど普及していないのが現状だ。
ビデオキャスティングに関しては、なかなか個人レベルでの普及というのは難しそうというのが今の感想。
